About the role
Vyxen is looking for a staff accountant to support the financial operations behind a growing creator platform. You will help maintain accurate records, reconcile activity across financial systems, support the close process, and give the team dependable information for day-to-day decisions.
This role requires care, consistency, and sound judgment. You should be comfortable investigating discrepancies, documenting your work clearly, and improving processes as transaction volume and operational complexity increase.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and prepare recurring journal entries.
- Reconcile bank accounts, payment processor activity, creator payout records, and balance sheet accounts.
- Support monthly and year-end close with organized schedules and complete documentation.
- Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenses, and transaction records for accuracy.
- Prepare financial reports and explain material variances or unusual activity.
- Support tax preparation, audits, and requests from external accounting partners.
- Maintain practical internal controls and clear financial recordkeeping procedures.
- Identify manual or error-prone processes and help design more reliable workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Three or more years of accounting experience with responsibility for reconciliations and close activities.
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles.
- Strong spreadsheet skills and experience with accounting or financial reporting systems.
- Ability to investigate discrepancies and maintain accuracy across detailed transaction records.
- Strong organization, written communication, and follow-through.
- Good judgment when handling confidential financial and business information.
- Experience with subscription businesses, marketplaces, payment processors, or creator payouts is helpful but not required.
