01 · What actually happens here
A room for adults is not the same as a room about sex.
Adult chat covers more ground than people expect before they join. A typical evening moves between ordinary conversation and explicit territory and back again. Someone asks how people met their partners. Someone else wants opinions on whether to message an ex. Two people start flirting in the main room. A group ends up on the mechanics of long-distance relationships. None of that is off-topic, and none of it obliges anybody to participate in the parts they are not interested in.
The mix matters because it changes how you should arrive. In a room that only did explicit chat, opening with an explicit line would be normal. Here it reads as though you have not looked at what is happening. Reading the room for a minute before you type costs nothing and tells you whether the conversation is casual, flirty, or already deep into a subject you want to join.
It also means you can be here without a specific goal. Plenty of members are not looking for a hookup, a partner, or a scene. They want conversation with adults who will not get squeamish. If that is you, say so. It is a perfectly normal reason to be in the room and it saves everyone the guesswork.
